The Broadway production of the horror play Paranormal Activity will host a special free screening of the original film outside the August Wilson Theatre on Halloween. The screening is set to begin at 5 PM on 52nd Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blanket, chair, or something comfortable to sit on. Each attendee will have the chance to win a pair of free tickets to a future performance of Paranormal Activity on Broadway.

The production has recently extended its premiere Broadway run by eight weeks. Originally scheduled to close on January 3, 2027, it will now run at the August Wilson Theatre through February 28, 2027. The stage adaptation of the 2007 screen horror favorite has transferred from sold-out runs in London to Los Angeles. Directed by Felix Barrett and penned by Levi Holloway, the Paranormal Activity stage play tells a story distinct from the film, following a couple, Lou and James, who move from Chicago to London to escape their past, only to discover that places aren’t haunted—people are.

The cast includes Cher Álvarez as Lou, Travis A. Knight as James, Shannon Cochran as Carolanne, and Eva Kaminsky as Etheline Cotgrave. Understudies Caron Buinis, Caroline Hendricks, and Michael Holding complete the company. Álvarez, Knight, Cochran, Buinis, Hendricks, and Holding are all making their Broadway debuts while reprising their roles from previous productions across North America.

The original Paranormal Activity film, released by Paramount Pictures in 2009, is noted for its psychological terror and reimagining of the found footage genre for a new generation. The film became a global sensation, grossing nearly $200 million worldwide and launching a blockbuster franchise that includes seven feature films.

The stage production features scenic and costume design by Fly Davis, illusion design by Chris Fisher, lighting design by Anna Watson, sound design by Gareth Fry, and video and projection design by Luke Halls. General management is handled by Envoy Theatricals' Samuel Dallas and Marty McGuire.

Jason Blum, founder and CEO of Blumhouse, the original producer of the Paranormal Activity film franchise, is part of the producing team for the Broadway adaptation. The production is also produced in association with Paramount Pictures, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Center Theatre Group, Shakespeare Theatre Company, and American Conservatory Theater. The staging was originally produced at Leeds Playhouse. In addition to Blum, the producing team includes Simon Friend, Hanna Osmolska, Ken Davenport, Gavin Kalin Productions, Seaview, Crooked Letter, Blumhouse, John Gore Organization, Michael Ngo/David Thomas Tao, Olympus Theatricals/FineWomen Productions, Amplify Pictures, Robina Riccitiello, and Lone Pine Theatricals, with Seaview serving as executive producer.
